Our new sodAfter a summer of fighting weeds that slowly crept across our front lawn from the dickhead neighbor’s yard, we killed our lawn and purchased some sod. It looks really nice, and green! Click the picture to see the photo album.

We are also putting a 3-4 ft flower garden along the fence to act as a weed barrier from the neighbor. We are looking into getting cement curbing along all the flower beds in the front yard. We need 60 feet total. Hopefully there is someone willing to do such a small area, or we might end up doing it ourselves (with some help from Lucky, of course!). Did I mention my neighbors Lucky and Tom kick ass!? Did I mention that our neighbors to the north are assholes?

I’ll add some new pictures to the photo album in a couple of weeks after the grass has a chance to grow a little and the lines disappear. You’ll notice from the pictures that the mail box is on the other side of the driveway. I don’t know how many people have ran into it when it was between our driveway and Lucky’s driveway, but Uncle Melvin finally took it out (and his bumper and tailgate) when they came for a visit last month. We are looking for an old milk can to stick it in so it looks a little more attractive than the white plastic bucket and will be easier to move.

Scott told me about this a few days ago and I just had a chance to check it out. It seems ESPN fired Trev Alberts after he didn’t show up for work. It seems he didn’t like playing second fiddle to the guys on GameDay.

I’ve always hated this guys guts. He was hot-headed and always bashed on the smaller schools. He felt smaller conferences were not worthy and always trashed on them. Thank God he is gone, and hopefully nobody picks him up.

What the hell has gotten into the Boise State Broncos? They led the Oregon State Muffs by 10 or more points most of the game yesterday, only to give it all up in the fourth quarter and lose by 3. What if Hawkin’s would have kicked a field goal at the end of the first half instead of going for it? What if’s don’t mean shit!

It looks like the San Francisco 49ers may do better than BSU this year! The Niners were 2-14 last year but held off St. Louis’ 16 point rally to win 28-25 today.

Chris Carr, former Boise State Broncos kick returner, was a bright spot in the Raiders’ 30-20 loss to New England last night. Carr had six kick returns for 151 yards and three punt return for 15 yards.

Carr was an undrafted free agent who earned his spot on the Raiders roster by his hard work in the preseason. Coach Norv Turner had this to say about Carr during the preseason:

“I told the team before the first minicamp that somebody in the room was going to surprise them and make the team. We were looking for somebody to return kicks. He wasn’t drafted for whatever reason. He was the best return man available after the draft and we signed him.”

Back Catalogue PictureI received my Back Catalogue poster in the mail yesterday. It is sweet! Brandi didn’t want me to have it because it “has naked women.” No it doesn’t, they are painted! The poster has past Pink Floyd album covers painted on the backs of women sitting on the edge of a pool. It was created by the artistic genious, Storm Thorgerson. The poster is hanging on my office wall by the door, so you have to be in the office in order to see it.

UPDATE:
I have had a lot of people finding this post looking for this poster. I purchased mine from allposters.com. You can get yours by clicking on the link below.
