I found out yesterday that HR has approved the CCU/Telemetry department’s request to keep me on after my summer externship and roll me into a permanent, benefit eligible position in the Telemetry Unit in Meridian effective August 17th. I get to keep my current position as a Nurse Apprentice which allows me to keep my pay rate as well as train for extra duties such as Unit/Telemetry Clerk, EKG, and/or phlebotomy.
I am pretty excited because they are open to my requested schedule around my classes. The benefits are not as great as they were at UPS, but the flexible schedule, more hours, better pay, and unique clinical experience more than make up for it.

whoohooo! Wow, that is so great.. I’ve been wondering how you were doing and how you like your new job. Every time I think about calling you, though, it’s a bad time… (^_^) one of these days my mind will start working. I’m so excited to hear that you get to keep your job and work it around your classes! Will you still have to work mostly nights to do it?

    Love ya, Mom

    THANK YOU!

Yes, I will be working nights. Saturday and Sunday nights, was well as Thursday evenings. It looks like Friday night will be my party night.

A night weekend CAP is what they needed, so I took it. I like the night shift, anyway. I’ll have Monday to recover and do homework before I go to class on Tuesday morning.

I also found out that I get Labor Day weekend off, so it looks we’ll be headed to Victor for the reunion. We’ll be taking the car to save on gas and sleeping on the floor/ground.
