Straight from NObama’s brother’s mouth!
I think Christmas (and most other holidays) have become too commercialized. It used to be about being with family and enjoying each others company. Now it is about how many times my checking account overdrafts before my next paycheck.
We are heading to McCall for Christmas this year. We were supposed to stay home for the holidays, but Tim and Jan are coming up from Californication, so we have to take the oppertunity to see them. Their son, Matt (our nephew), has tranferred up her at work and is staying with us. He moved in the day after Thanksgiving. He can stay as long as he wants as long as he keeps cooking every once in a while.
My mother’s house burnt down on December 15. She lost everything except some pictures that we were able to pull out of some wet, charred boxes. Mom is staying with Teggie while she applies to get different housing, and Scott and Jacque are now staying with us. We moved Jacque’s bed into Abbie’s room and Scott is staying in Jacque’s old room/spare room.
We went from three to six people in our house in just over 3 weeks! It reminds me of Uncle Kelvin’s house.
Scott told me about this a few days ago and I just had a chance to check it out. It seems ESPN fired Trev Alberts after he didn’t show up for work. It seems he didn’t like playing second fiddle to the guys on GameDay.
I’ve always hated this guys guts. He was hot-headed and always bashed on the smaller schools. He felt smaller conferences were not worthy and always trashed on them. Thank God he is gone, and hopefully nobody picks him up.
